Chris is a BACP psychotherapist and coach who specialises in working with men and boys, focussing on helping them to develop their emotional well-being. He’s also a professional, public speaker and workshop facilitator who founded the M-Path programmes having worked in schools, universities and businesses across the UK and beyond ever since his book, ‘Be a man: How macho culture damages us and how to escape it’ was published in 2017.

He previously spent ten years as a journalist, producing and presenting numerous documentaries on the subject of men and masculinity for the BBC, whilst also writing about it in mainstream media such as The Guardian, The Independent and The Telegraph.

Key points from the episode:

  • How on paper his life was fine, but he felt a mess, so started asking probing questions.

  • Redefining the "hero" archetype.

  • How there are so few things targeted directly at men now and the need for it.

  • How to drive allyship (and not drive it away)

  • How a magical spontaneous conversation happened at one of his events.

  • A beautiful message for men.
